DCI

I am really involved in this weird activity called Drum Corps. This activity is focused on the education of young musicians in the art of music in motion. There are a number of "corps" from around the world that put a program together each year and compete throughout the summers. Each corps is made of 60 or so brass, 20-30 percussion, and 30-40 guard performers. The corps put together a fifteen minute musical and visual program that is performed in football stadiums. I was a member of one of the more prestigious corps called The Cadets. Last night was a huge competition in San Antonio, Texas. My corps came in second to a ridiculous corps called the Cavaliers. I hate this corps, they are a bunch of punks with no marching technique. But then again I am a little biased. There are three more weeks of competition, so there is still time for my corps to overcome these pansies. Lets see if they can do it.
